Makes for Birthdays

Recently a lot of my makes have been for presents.

Most are for Christmas and swaps (So no peeking yet I'm afraid!), but it won't be long before I can show you some will it?!

But here are a few little ones I've made for Birthday presents, for some of my favourite girls...

... For my sister-in-law, Bec.

British Bunting, Needle felted Lavender Union Jacks and a Russian Doll Birthday card.

Toffee Apple Cake for Bec.

... For my sweet friend, Jodie.

Fingerless Mitts.

... And for my Big Sister, Tina.
(I hope she doesn't read this yet!)

A cosy scarf.

I've not tried making a scarf before, so this was a first attempt.
The pattern was from here, Cute and Easy Crochet.

Any anyone else tried making this scarf?
my finished scarf does not look like the one pictured in the book!
Have I made a boo boo?

I hope you've all been having a super week.

Be back soon.

Love Katie

  7. Some gorgeous makes there Katie and I think the recipients will be very pleased. I am making scarves as presents too, the fancy ones you knit from one ball. A bit fiddly but quite easy to do!

  11. Those are beautiful handmade gifts which are always much better than the mass produced stuff you buy in the shops. I particularly like the little lavender sachets and the card. The cake looks delicious too.

  13. Really super makes, Katie, and you finish things off so professionally with your cards and so on. I too have that lovely little book and promised myself I'd make numerous items from it. Have I? Have I 'eck as like! But I have been busy making other stuff, to be fair.

The scarf looks incredible. As for the cake...I am not going to say anything. No, I'm not. Get thee behind me!! Lx

  14. Wow you have been busy! What thoughtful presents, anything handmade especially for you always feels so much more special. You know that real care and attention has gone into making something just for you.
I've got the book, but haven't actually managed to make anything from it yet. I started the springtime throw, but got bored so it's sat in a bag somewhere in my room.
The scarf looks fabulous, forget what the picture looks like! I haven't got the book to hand, but I'm sure it doesn't look that different - just say it was intentional!
